Privacy-conscious subscription tracking
Track subscriptions without connecting your bank.
You do not need to give an expense tracker access to your financial accounts just to understand your recurring costs. Budgeta uses deliberate manual entry, keeps every original currency, and calculates one comparable monthly view.
What “no bank connection” means
- You never enter banking credentials into Budgeta.
- Budgeta does not scan or continuously monitor transactions.
- You choose exactly which recurring costs to record.
- You can export your expense list whenever you need it.
The honest tradeoff
More control, with a little intentional setup.
Bank-linked apps can automatically discover charges, which is convenient. Manual trackers cannot promise to find a payment you forgot. In exchange, they avoid persistent access to transaction history and work even when a bank or country is unsupported.
This approach is a good fit when you prefer privacy and control, have a manageable number of recurring costs, or pay for services across multiple currencies.
No bank credentials to share
Manual tracking keeps financial account access outside the expense tracker entirely.
Works across banks and currencies
Track costs from different cards, countries, and currencies in one recurring-expense list.
Your list stays portable
Export your Budgeta expenses to Excel whenever you want a separate copy or deeper analysis.
A practical subscription audit
Find recurring charges without uploading a statement.
Set aside fifteen minutes and work through the accounts you already use. Nothing needs to leave your device during the review.
- 1
Review the last two or three months of card and bank statements yourself.
- 2
Search your email for words such as receipt, renewal, subscription, invoice, and membership.
- 3
Check Apple, Google, PayPal, and other services that may bill on behalf of another company.
- 4
Add each repeating payment with its amount, currency, and billing schedule.
- 5
Compare the monthly and annual totals, then cancel anything you no longer use.
Common questions
Before you choose a manual tracker
Can Budgeta automatically find forgotten subscriptions?
Not currently. Budgeta does not connect to or monitor your bank, so you decide which expenses to add.
Can I track charges in different currencies?
Yes. Each expense keeps its original currency while the dashboard converts totals into your preferred display currency.
Is manual tracking useful if prices change?
Yes, as long as you update the saved amount when a provider changes its price. A monthly review is a useful time to check active services.
Can I try the calculation without creating an account?
Yes. The free calculator runs in your browser and does not submit the expense names or amounts you enter.
